Tap dancing is a fun way to learn about music and rhythm through dance, by creating rhythms and beats using metal plates attached to the shoes. Tap dances originates from early slave trade in America, when African American’s used rhythms made with their feet as a way of communicating. This was later combined with Irish and British clogging steps to create a style called “Buck and Wing”, which would eventually became Modern Tap Dance.
We follow the I.S.T.D syllabus, which has recently been updated to include modern American influences. As well as all the new styles and cool moves, we also love dancing like Fred Astaire and Ginger Rodgers in the old time musicals.
